Minnesota’s 75 state parks and recreation areas are all offering free admission on this day and many have planned special activities such as geocaching, kayaking, camping and other family-friendly activities. Minnesotans do not need a license to fish at most parks. Many parks also loan out fishing kits, birding kits, GPS kits and Kids’ Discovery Kits. The DNR is conducting a statewide “School’s Out Camp Out” challenge to all school-aged kids and their families with the goal to fill every campsite in MN on June 8. Take a photo of your “School’s Out - Camp Out” adventure and share it on social media using #SchoolsOutCampOut and #OnlyinMN hashtags. There’s a state park within 30 miles of most Minnesotans.
