During the week of Feb. 10-16, the Belle Plaine Police Department responded to the following selected calls:

Monday, February 10

At 10:07 a.m., an officer was asked to come to a home on the 800 block of Prairie Street West in order to remove a female from the property after she had been caught stealing money. A trespass notice was served.

At 2:10 p.m., an officer was called to the 100 block of Meridian Street North for a hit and run. The driver was located and was found to have been looking for the owner of the vehicle he hit. The officer assisted with the exchange of insurance information with no issue.

Tuesday, February 11

At 6:54 a.m., police responded to a medical call on the 1000 block of Chestnut Street South in which a juvenile female was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

At 9:18 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle accident on the 200 block of Meridian Street North. There were no injuries and minor damage to the vehicles involved. While pulling out from a stop sign, a vehicle hit a post office truck that was already in the intersection.

Wednesday, February 12

At 11:52 a.m., an officer was asked to assist Sibley County and the State Patrol with a semi truck with a full load all over the road on Highway 169. Officers witnessed driving violations. State Patrol took over the call once they arrived.

At 2:43 p.m., an officer was called to the school on the 300 block of Market Street South to assist with a child who was having behavior issues. The officer stood by and chatted with the student while waiting for his parents to arrive.

At 8:41 p.m., police responded to a medical call on the 900 block of Cedar Street South. A juvenile female was checked by an ambulance crew, and no transport was needed.

Thursday, February 13

At 9:33 a.m., an officer and records assisted a male that found that someone had used his name on a traffic stop, and he now had a warrant out for his arrest. After investigation, it was determined who the actual suspect was.

At 2:17 p.m., officers were called to a home on the 300 block of Cedar Street North for a possible animal neglect issue. The reporting person, a male, 20, from Belle Plaine, ended up being arrested and jailed on a felony warrant. The pet was located and was found to be in good condition.

Friday, February 14

At an unlisted time, police responded to a medical call on the 300 block of Orchard Street East in which an adult male was transported to a local hospital.

At an unlisted time, an officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 169 and Main Street for speed. After investigation, a female, 20, from Eagan, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, underage consumption and open bottle.

Saturday, February 15

At 6:24 p.m., officers were asked to check on a couple that may have been having a domestic dispute on the 200 block of Elm Street South. Upon arrival, both seemed OK, and a female party said nothing was going on. There was no evidence of a fight.

At 8:19 p.m., officers were recalled to a home on the 200 clock of Elm Street South for a 911 hang up. This time there was evidence of an altercation, but both parties were intoxicated and neither would cooperate with police. Police were unable to determine what took place. There are no charges at this time.

At 10:53 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle at Prairie Street East and Cedar Street South for failing to signal its turn. The officer found the male driver, 19, of Shakopee, to be in possession of marijuana and a firearm. He was arrested and jailed for gross misdemeanor possession of a firearm in public without a permit and possession of over 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle. Cash in the amount of $182 was forfeited due to the drug possession.

Sunday, February 16

At 1:07 a.m., police responded to a medical call on the 200 block of Orchard Street East in which a female was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

At 3:28 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign at Highway 169 and Meridian Street South. The officer found two passengers to be intoxicated and underage. A male, 20, from Farmington, and a female, 1, from Wisconsin, were both cited for underage consumption.

At 2:40 p.m., officers were asked to remove a male  and serve him with a trespass notice on the 900 block of Cobblestone Lane. It was completed without issue.

At 10:49 p.m., police responded to a medical call on the 200 block of Forest Street West in which a male was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
