During the week of  Jan. 6-12, the Belle Plaine Police Department responded to the following selected calls:

Monday, January 6

At 1:04 a.m., officers were called to the 900 block of Park Drive for a disturbance in which a male was intoxicated and yelling outside. The man, 25 from Belle Plaine, was found to have an active warrant and was arrested and jailed.

At 10:22 a.m., at the police department, a female was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

At 10:36 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Meridian Street South for a possible domestic in progress. Upon arrival, a party admitted to the female having an issue with her boyfriend, but the female refused police assistance.

Tuesday, January 7

Police responded to four separate medical calls from 5:32 a.m. to 10:47 p.m., in which four people, two males and two females, were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Wednesday, January 8

At 9:01 a.m., on the 100 block of Walnut Street South, an officer was given four books of checks that the reporting person did not order and came from a checking account that was fraudulently opened in the reporting person’s name, which was reported in 2019. The reporting person was sent to collection for non-payment of the order. The officer is assisting with the matter.

At 2:31 p.m., police responded to the 800 block of Main Street West for a medical call in which a female was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

At 10:51 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of Aspen Lane North for three parties who smelled of marijuana. After investigation, a male, 20, from Zimmerman, was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and arrested and jailed for four outstanding warrants from several counties. A female, 25, from Rosemount, was arrested and jailed for felony drug possession, and a male, 26, from St. Francis, was also arrested and jailed for felony drug possession.

Thursday, January 9

At 7:46 a.m., police were called to the 600 block of Pioneer Circle after the reporting person’s car had been egged over night. No damage was done, and the reporting person just wanted police to be aware.

At 2:14 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Market Street South after being advised that another vehicle was egged. No damage is reported at this time.

At 2:44 p.m., police responded to a medical call on the 800 block of Priaire Street West in which a female was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

At 9:07 p.m., an officer was called to the 900 block of Orchard Street East because the reporting person’s vehicle was egged the night before. There was no permanent damage, but he called it in because he heard it was a problem lately. The reporting person was advised to try to park off the street, as most vehicles were hit on the street.

At 11:53 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle after the driver failed to stop for a stop sign and signal its turn near Enterprise Drive and Laredo Street. The officer found the vehicle to smell of marijuana upon approach. The male driver, 28, from Belle Plaine, was found to be in possession of two vape cartridges that he said contained THC oil, a vape pen and paraphernalia with residue. All items were confiscated, and the matter is under investigation.

At 11:55 p.m., police responded to a medical call on the 700 block of Maple Circle in which a male was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Friday, January 10

At 12:12 a.m., an officer took a theft report on the 400 block of Chestnut Street South from a vehicle that happened in the metro area. Information was taken and forwarded to the investigating agency.

At 10:29 a.m., police responded to a medical call on the 600 block of Elm Street North in which a male was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

At 11:42 a.m., an officer took another report of a vehicle that was egged two nights ago on the 100 block of Grove Street South. This was not discovered by the reporting person until a day later, so when the egg was removed, paint came off with it. The reporting person was not going to insurance with it and just wanted to document it.

At 3:38 p.m., at the police department, a female reported that she believes someone used a gift card of hers fraudulently. The issue is under investigation.

Saturday, January 11

At 12:22 a.m., police responded to a medical call on the 200 block of Meridian Street South in which a male was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

At 12:59 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on Main Street East and Walnut Street North for moving violations. The officer found the male driver, 19, from Chaska, to be under 21 and in possession of alcohol and drug paraphernalia. He was cited for possession of both items, and they were confiscated.

At 8:14 a.m., police responded to a medical call on the 500 block of Beaver Street East in which a male was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

At 9:23 a.m., police responded to a medical call on the 800 block of Main Street West in which a female was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Sunday, January 12

At 1:44 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for failure to stop at a stop sign on Enterprise Drive and Meridian Street South. The officer found the male driver, 57, from Belle Plaine, to be intoxicated. After investigation, he was booked and released on fourth-degree DWI charges, as well as the stop sign violation.

At 2:38 a.m., police responded to a medical call on the 1000 block of Morningside Way in which a male was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

 At 11:33 a.m., officers were called for a welfare check on a male on the 700 block of South Street west. The male was located and fled from police in his vehicle. Once he was caught, he was arrested and jailed for felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and traveling with an uncased firearm.
