The week Jan. 30-Feb. 5, Belle Plaine police responded to the following selected calls:
Monday, Jan. 30
A Belle Plaine man stopped on the 300 block of South Elm Street at 2:58 a.m. for an inoperable headlight was arrested for fourth-degree DWI.
A person on the 800 block of Riverview Lane reported at 10:06 a.m. someone vandalized a fence.
A man on the 200 block of West State Street called for medical help at 5:44 p.m. A person was transported to an area hospital.
Tuesday, Jan. 31
A personal-injury crash near the intersection of Highway 169 and East Main Street was reported at 12:28 p.m. A man was on southbound 169 and lost control of his vehicle. He went through the median, across the northbound lanes and landed in a ditch. The man was airlifted to an area hospital.
A woman on the 100 block of West Church Street reported at 3:34 p.m. the theft of electronics, shoes and money.
A man at a school on the 200 block of South Market Street called for medical help at 5:54 p.m. A woman was suffering chest pains. She was transported to an area hospital.
Wednesday, Feb. 1
A single vehicle rollover crash near the intersection of Hickory Boulevard and Laredo Avenue was reported at 3:02 a.m. The vehicle struck a tree. The driver was transported to an area hospital.
A woman on the 900 block of Prairie Drive called for medical help at 7:57 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 2
A man on the 100 block of North Meridian Street reported at 6:45 a.m. the theft of a laptop computer from an unlocked vehicle.
A woman on the 800 block of South Elm Street called for medical help at 5:53 p.m. A 2-year-old fell off a chair.
A two-vehicle crash near the intersection of South Meridian Street and East Commerce Drive was reported at 6:43 p.m.
A Belle Plaine man at his residence on the 100 block of South Meridian Street was arrested at 7:07 p.m. on two outstanding warrants.
Responding to a complaint at 8:13 p.m. of excess noise from a vehicle near the intersection of Ashford Road and Century Street, the driver was cited for driving after license revocation. A girl riding in the vehicle was transported to her home.
Friday, Feb. 3
A woman on the 300 block of South Market Street called for medical help at 7:01 a.m. An elderly woman was having trouble breathing. She was transported to an area hospital.
At 3 p.m., police cited two BPHS students, one for possession of a small amount of marijuana and the other for possession of cigarettes.
Police cited a woman stopped at 3:43 p.m. near the intersection of East Commerce Drive and South Meridian Street for driving without a license.
A Jordan woman stopped for an illegal lane change at 2:45 a.m. near the intersection of East Main Street and South Hickory Boulevard was arrested for fourth-degree DWI.
Sunday, Feb. 5
A vehicle was stopped at 1:08 a.m. near the intersection of East Main Street and East Commerce Drive when the driver did not signal a turn. Two passengers were cited for underage consumption.
A man on the 100 block of North Aspen Lane reported another person’s poor driving at 10:08 p.m. The driver, a Savage man, was located and arrested for third-degree DWI, refusal to test, and cited for violating license restrictions.
