Harvest Celebration
Visitors to the ‘trunk or treat’ portion of Trinity Lutheran Church’s second annual Harvest Celebration showed up in droves last Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26, to socialize and enjoy a variety of Halloween-themed games on the church grounds in Belle Plaine.
Trever Vickmark with his display on East Main Street took third for the over-the-top display of Halloween fright.
Scott and Ann Troseth rounded out the place winners in fourth for their display on Scott Lane.
Mary Muehlenhardt took first place in the Belle Plaine Herald’s inaugural Halloween home decorating contest. Muehlenhardt said she decorates every year and that she would have decorated independent of the contest.
Tricia and Joe Burmeister took second place with their display on South Willow Street.
Hans Peterson, from Belle Plaine Township, is the intern pastor at Hope Lutheran Church in Jordan and developed “Welcome Table.”

Women from all around enjoyed a Belle Plaine ladies’ night out last Thursday, Oct. 24, at the annual Witches on Main social and shopping event held in downtown Belle Plaine.
