Authorities are investigating the death of a man found in the median of Highway 169 in Shakopee at Canterbury Road.

A passerby reportedly called 911 on Thursday after spotting the body around 3 p.m.

Shakopee police and the State Patrol arrived at the scene and later requested the aid of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to lead an investigation into the death.

The BCA stated there was a car crash near the same location at about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday but have not confirmed whether the two incidents are related.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an autopsy on the unidentified man.
