One local city celebration managed to hold a weekend of socially distanced festivities. Over the past weekend, Glad Days in Cologne held three days of events that included a softball tournament, movie night on the baseball field and citywide garage sales.
However, the main attraction for the weekend was a tractor cruise through town that ended at the City Square Park on Saturday afternoon, July 25, with a live performance from “The Six Outlaws and the Trumpeters,” who covered an assortment of Johnny Cash songs.
Up at the park, people of all ages enjoyed the music and concessions, including a variety of local vendors and food trucks around town.
Smattered around the park was a variety of quirky signs reminding the public to socially distance as much as possible with song quote variations from iconic artists such as The Police and Neil Diamond.
