A new Miss Belle Plaine was crowned at the Bar-B-Q Days Royalty Coronation on Sunday, July 18.
The 2021 Miss Belle Plaine Lindsey Czarnecki said she was not expecting former queen Kadence Bran de Leon to place the crown on her head during Sunday’s coronation ceremony.
“I thought for sure it was going to be somebody else. I was so shocked; it made me cry,” she said.
Czarnecki, who was sponsored by the Health Integration Group, will receive a $1,250 college scholarship.
She is looking forward to an exciting year ahead, participating in parades throughout the area, and representing the City of Belle Plaine.
“It means so much. We had such amazing girls running. Knowing that I’m picked to represent is so amazing. It’s such an honor, one I will definitely cherish,” she said.
Outside of her royalty title, she is involved in the school speech team and the community ed softball league.
Her parents are Ann Vensland, David Vensland, and Peter Czarnecki.
The other members of her court are First Princess Elliana Fahey, Second Princess Emma Driehorst, and Miss Congeniality Carly Williams.
