COVID-19 Closures and Updates

Governor Tim Walz announced on Sunday, March 15, that all Minnesota public school districts and charter schools that serve students pre-kindergarten through grade 12 would be closed from Wednesday, March 18, through Friday, March 27. On Monday, March 16, Walz ordered closure of restaurants, bars and places of public accommodation and amusement, such as fitness centers and movie theaters. Also on March 16, President Donald Trump discouraged any gatherings of ten or more people. As a result, event organizers and businesses announced cancellations and precautions to avoid the spread of the coronavirus and to preserve health care resources. On Sunday, March 22, Gov. Tim Walz announced an order activating the Minnesota National Guard to transport personal protective equipment needed by health care workers. The Herald will keep a running list of canceled and postponed events with additional information. This list is not complete but it will be continuously updated on our website and each week in the Herald. If you know of a cancellation, postponement or have updated information, email us at and we’ll add or update the information.
