Fall Color Photo contest

There is still time to capture the best fall photo for the Herald's Fall Photo Contest and win a free subscription to the Belle Plaine Herald or tickets to Trail of Terror. The submission deadline is October 23. The winner will also be recognized on the front page of the Oct. 31 Herald as well as our website, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram pages. Photos and videos must be taken this fall within the Belle Plaine area and include a short story/photo caption about the photo(s). Fall themed photos can include people, places, things and activities.

The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers and videographers but limited to three submissions per person. Photos that do not win the contest may also be selected for use in our newspaper, website and social profiles. The winning photo and video will be chosen by the staff at the Belle Plaine Herald.

How to submit:

E-mail your photos/video with story/photo captions to: belleplaineherald@icloud.com

Mail photos/video on CD: Belle Plaine Herald, P.O. Box 7, Belle Plaine, MN 56011

Drop off photos/videos to the office on a CD, media card or thumb drive to: 113 E. Meridian St, Belle Plaine

Acceptable photo formats: Adobe Photoshop, JPEG or PNG. Photo size: at least 9 inches wide and 12 inches tall (smaller preview images are accepted as long as larger files are available upon request). Resolution: 240 pixels or better. Acceptable video formats: AVI (audio video interleave) and WMV (Windows media video), MOV and QT (Quicktime formats), MP4. Videos can also be submitted via a YouTube link.
