On Wednesday, July 22, crews from Twin Cities TV station Fox 9 put a spotlight on all things Belle Plaine amateur baseball.

As part of their Town Ball Tour series, the crews interviewed several local baseball staples, including Dave "Greek" Wagner, who was recently inducted into the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame, and Gerry "Mize" Meyer, who played an integral role in salvaging Belle Plaine's baseball program in the '50s.

Fox 9 also met with Belle Plaine Mayor Chris Meyer who put a spotlight on the Belle Plaine Aquatic Center, which is set to open for the season on Saturday, July 25, and current Tigers manager Matt Ruehling.

Wednesday night, the Belle Plaine town Tigers hosted the Henderson Tigers and rolled through the visitors 13-1 in seven innings.
