During the Belle Plaine City Council meeting on Monday, Oct. 7, the council approved the purchase of a new plow truck at  a cost of around $235,000, to be purchased next year.

Public Works Superintendent Al Fahey notified Mayor Chris Meyer and the city council that the pickle ball courts being constructed at Century Park have been painted and are awaiting fencing.

Fahey also noted that reconstruction of the dog park at Hickory Park may take one to two weeks. The hockey rink slated for Hickory Park will get its concrete this week.

• The city’s truth in taxation meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 2, at 6:15 p.m. in the council chambers.
