At the Scott County Board meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 16, Scott County Administrator Lezlie Vermillion updated commissioners on the state-sponsored relief program for businesses and landlords impacted by Executive Order 20-99.
The order closed bars, restaurants, and gyms for a four-week period starting in November 2020.
The grant program set aside about $2.5 million in relief funds. Vermillion said the county received 191 applications from business owners, with 161 already receiving $2.1 million.
“There’s another 30 more to go through that would have a value of about $450,000 if they assume the maximum. We are still working through those,” she said.
Additionally, the county received 125 applications from 53 unique owners for landlord relief. About $291,000 was distributed to landlords, with requests totaling close to $700,000.
Vermillion said if there are additional funds, the county could possibly revisit other landlord applications.
