Semi rollover hwy 25

A semi carrying 78,000 pounds of live Turkeys was just one of the vehicles that went off the road during this week's snowstorm.

A semi carrying 78,000 lbs of live turkeys overturned near the intersection of Highway 25 and Sibley County Road 60 after a car drifted into the driver's lane.

The semi driver, identified as Billy Ward III, 34, was driving eastbound on Highway 25 when he noticed a red Honda Accord, driven by Michael Mullen, 66, of Norwood-Young America,  in his lane amid blizzard conditions. Mullen had reportedly lost control of his westbound vehicle and drifted across the roadway.

Ward attempted to steer his semi out of the way of the Honda and onto the should and entered the road ditch and overturned.  The Minnesota State Patrol, who are in charge of the investigation, reported no injuries and no passengers.
