A Prior Lake man suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted from the scene of a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 13 and 220th St. E. on Saturday, Aug. 17.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol report, at 5:43 p.m., John Patrick Mullenmeister, 66, of Prior Lake was traveling northbound on Highway 13 in a Kia Soul when he was struck by a Ford COF Pickup traveling eastbound on 220th St. E. that failed to stop for the stop sign.
Mullenmeister sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted from the scene by a LifeLink III helicopter and taken to Hennepin County HealthCare.
After colliding with the Kia Soul, the pickup rolled several times and rolled over a Chevy Tahoe containing five people.
The driver of the pickup, Chad James Svendsen, 48, of Lakeville, was uninjured.
The driver of the Chevy Tahoe, Christopher Erich Rust, 44, of Chanhassen, was taken to Hennepin County HealthCare with non-life threatening injuries. The other adult passenger, Steven Anthony Mcauley, 47, of Chanhassen, also sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee. There were also three male children in the car, ages 10, 12 and 13, who were uninjured.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Scott County Sheriff's Office, Allina Ambulance, ALF Ambulance, LifeLink III, New Prague Fire Department and Prior Lake Fire Department.
