Fran Mabee

Fran B. Mabee, 87, of Shakopee, entered eternal life on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Shakopee.
Visitation is Monday, May 13 from 5-8 p.m. at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral Home, 1220 3rd Ave. E., Shakopee, 952-445-2755. Visitation also Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 11 a.m., both at Church of St. Mary, 535 Lewis St. S., Shakopee. Presiding is Reverend Erik Lundgren. Interment at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
Fran was born in Harrison, WI, on September 6, 1931, the daughter of Cornelius “Casey” and Mary (Dirkx) Swan. She went to nursing school in Mankato, and worked as a nurse at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.
Fran married Jim Mabee in Harrison on September 11, 1954.
Fran enjoyed knitting, doing jigsaw puzzles, cryptograms, and once a month for dinner she loved getting together with both her condo friends and NSP crowd.
Fran is preceded by husband, Jim; grandson, Casey Mabee; parents, Mary and Casey Swan; and brother, Pete Swan.
She is survived by children, Jim, Joe (Lynn), Julie (Jeff) Sibell, Jon, Jayne Huber, Jennifer (Doug) Galloway and Joann (Dave) Harms; 12 grandchildren, Chris Meger, Peggy Albrecht, Susan Hill, Jessica Huber, Michael Huber, Scott Huber, Erin Galloway, Ryan Galloway, Nick Mabee, Maria Mabee, Tyler Harms and Ellie Harms; four great-grandchildren, Shea, Vivian, Zachary and James; siblings, Bernie Vandervest, John Swan, Pat Bernhardt, Mary (Joe) Zahringer and Gene (Ginny) Swan; sisters-in-law, Corrine Swan and Mary Peterson.
Pallbearers are Fran’s grandsons, Chris Meger, Michael Huber, Scott Huber, Ryan Galloway, Nick Mabee and Tyler Harms.
