Marjorie Melcher, 90, of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Jordan. Rev. Jeremy Glowicki officiated. Visitation was two hours prior to the service at the church on Thursday morning. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
Marjorie was born in Belle Plaine Township, Scott County on July 21, 1929 to Paul and Mathilda (Nagel) Kroening.
On June 16, 1954 she married Emil Melcher at Trinity Ev. Lutheran in Belle Plaine. They were blessed with one child, Christine.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, baking and watching game shows on T.V.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Christine Melcher of Seattle, WA; sister, Vivian (Herman) Luedloff of Belle Plaine; and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mathilda; husband, Emil; brother, Emory; and sister, Marcella who died in infancy.
