Mary Ellen Miska, 62, of Le Center passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Belle Plaine at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. 
Visitation will be on Friday December 14 from 4-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Le Center Funeral Home and one hour prior at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 15 at 11 a.m. at the St Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center.  Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center. 
Mary was born in Warren Michigan on August 15, 1956 and moved to Le Center with her parents John “Jack” and Barbara (Gierdal) Miska.
She was a member and also worked as a minister at Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, first communion and confirmation classes. She also volunteered with conformation camps and national youth gatherings. 
Mary’s children and grandchildren were the center of her life. She enjoyed spending time with them, and never missed a birthday celebration.
She is survived by her father John “Jack” Miska; sons, Gary (Sheri) Meger of Le Sueur, and John (Lona) Meger of Le Sueur; daughters, Tammy (Jason) Dvorak of Belle Plaine, and Barbara (Matthew) Stuart of New Prague; brothers, John Miska of Crystal, Michael (Judy) Miska of Crooks, SD and Joseph (Melissa) Miska of Waterville; sisters, Sheryl (Robert) Heilman of Le Center and Melissa Miska of St. Paul; grandchildren, Joseph (Kacee) Knap, Alissa McCann, Jesse, Jeremy, and Jenna Schultz, Breanna, Claire, and Corey Meger, Tyler, Marie, Allison, Bryan, Ethan, Simon, Samuel, Brendan, Hannah, and Sophia Dvorak, Adalynn and Jadyn Stuart; great-grandchildren, Jason and Ford Knap, Lorna McCann, and Bella Thompson.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara A. Miska;  step-mother, Arlene Miska; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Miska.
