William M. (Bill) Chard, 82 of Mesa, AZ, passed away peacefully at his home on January 11, 2021.

William M. (Bill) Chard, 82 of Mesa, AZ, passed away peacefully at his home on January 11, 2021.

Bill was born on June 20, 1938 in Jordan, MN, the son of Melvin and Joyce Chard. He grew up in the Belle Plaine / Jordan area, attended country school, the Catholic School in Jordan, and then graduated from the Southern School of Agriculture in Waseca.
He married Agnes Cervenka on June 24, 1961 at the Church of St. Patrick in Cedar Lake Township.
Bill farmed on the family farm until 1967. He and Agnes then moved into the city of Belle Plaine at that time and he pursued a career in real estate. During this time he was actively involved with the City of Belle Plaine as Clerk and Council Member. He was also a Director on the UMW / SSA Alumni Association Board of Directors, Secretary of Treasury for the Scott County Fair, Charter member of Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever. He was an active real estate agent / broker in Belle Plaine until 1986
In 1986, Bill and Agnes started a new adventure and moved to Phoenix, AZ where he continued his real estate career.Bill won numerous awards for being a top producer with West USA Reality.
Bill loved to fish, hunt, travel, and play cards for hours on end with his buddies.
Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Agnes; brother, Robert (Betty) Chard of Belle Plaine; sister, Peggy (Myron) Malz of Belle Plaine; brother, LeRoy (Connie) Chard of Belle Plaine; sister-in-law, Janet (Glen) Mueller of Prior Lake; brother-in-law, Eddie (LaVonne) Cervenka of Medford; sister-in-law, Celia Patch (Denny Olson) of Minnetonka; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Chard and Joyce (Chard) Worm.
