The Belle Plaine Explosion Dance Team hit the state dance floor in Edina on Friday, March 12, and Saturday, March 13. It was the first time in the school’s history that the team made it to the state competition in both the Jazz and Hick Kick categories.

Community members and classmates celebrated this accomplishment by cheering on the team outside the school on Thursday, March 11.

On Friday, March 12, a squad of police cars and fi re trucks escorted the girls out of town on their way to Edina, as their fans cheered.

The athletes competed in Jazz first and earned seventh place. The next day they competed in High Kick and earned ninth place.

Belle Plaine competed in the AA category, with Sartell taking first for Jazz and High Kick.

The top teams for the other classes in both Kick and Jazz were Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd Shadows (Class A) and Eastview (Class AAA).
