The Tigers of Belle Plaine and the Giants of LS-H last faced each other in the Section 2A Championship a season ago. The Tigers rolled to victory in three games, earning themselves a Section 2A Championship in the process.

The squads renewed acquittances Tuesday night, Oct. 13,  in Belle Plaine, with early season jockeying in the Minnesota River Conference at stake this time.

The Tigers again won in three games, 25-16, 25-19, 25-21, improving to 3-0 on the young season. LS-H fell to 0-3.

Sarah Lenz 30 set assists paced a balanced attack that saw Lauren Johnson lead the team with eight kills, followed by Leah Lenz (seven), Abby Fisel and McKenna Ziemke (six), and Brianna Swenson (five).

Johnson also had five service aces and a team high 14 digs. McKenzie Schwichtenberg had 13 digs and Sara Lenz nine.

The Tigers continued its trek through the Minnesota River Conference with a trip to Montgomery to play TCU (1-2) on Tuesday night, Oct. 20, but results were unavailable at press time.

Victory for the Tigers would set up an early-season clash with Mayer Lutheran on Thursday night, Oct. 22, in Belle Plaine. The Crusaders are off to a 4-0 start in the conference.

The Tigers also welcome Norwood Young America on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
