Dear Editor,

I hope everyone had a good Bar-B-Q Day celebration.

After 40 years of helping and doing what needed doing - I’ve not had the thought process to attend the celebration. Here’s why!

I’m a member of the Le Sueur County Pioneer Power organization. I typically pull our beautiful float through the parade in town. When I went to the chamber for line-up location, I was told I needed to pay $45. I was quite taken aback and was told there was no deal. Even though my organization is non-profit, just the same as BP Bar-B-Q Days. No deals.

I feel bad that the organization doesn’t have some positives here to allow parades to be as good as they can be. We have no issues with other communities but such it is in B.P.

Have a good year.
